![]() Reliable sources generally include mainstream news media and major academic journals, and exclude self-published sources, particularly when self-published on the internet. Notability is demonstrated using reliable sources according to the corresponding Wikipedia guideline. In response to growing concerns in 2006 about issues specifically affecting biographies of living persons, Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales introduced a notability criterion via the core policy of " What Wikipedia Is Not." Wales commented that "I added Wikipedia is not a newspaper and especially not a tabloid newspaper and that we… attempt to make some sort of judgment about the long term historical notability of something…" The criterion was subsequently refined into this Notability guideline Wales was unsure if the policy changes would be accepted, but within weeks the policy had been "refined, copyedited, and extended to include heuristics for determining long-term notability." Criteria Sourcing I also speak frequently at technology and education conferences. The language of the criterion was modified and adapted to produce notability guidance in specific subject areas, before being introduced into the proposed notability guideline in September 2006. My writing appears on EdSocialMedia and I've been quoted in Mashable and US News & World Report. I'm on the Board of Trustees at the Newfound Lake Region Association and when I have the chance I'm an active hiker, climber, and paddler. My free time is usually spent with my family but I'm also passionate about the outdoors and protecting the environment. Now I'm the founder of a scrappy little company (one employee!) called Hans Mundahl and Associates, inc a digital strategy consultancy for schools and non-profits. Recently I had the chance to help New Hampton School become an Apple Distinguished School and I co-authored the iBook Teaching with the iPad available in the iBookStore Today I focus on technology integration centered on values-driven technology integration and 1:1 iPad initiatives. Since then I've been an Outward Bound instructor, a teacher, tutor, admission officer, house head, evening administrator on duty and I ran the experiential learning program at New Hampton School for almost ten years. I've been an educator since 1995 when I first stepped into the classroom as a Fulbright exchange teacher in the former East Germany.
